R1 Concepts at SEMA 2022

If you had to sum up everything that happens at the annual SEMA Show, “innovation” would undoubtedly be it.

There is no other show of its kind in the world, bringing together new exhibitors with old industry professionals letting attendees see the latest products up close and personal, all while learning about the current trends in custom vehicles and more.

The 2022 SEMA Show took place from October 31 to November 3 in beautiful Las Vegas, Nevada. The team at R1 Concepts was proud to be in attendance, and we’re eager to share with you everything that went on and more.

Recapping the Show: Breaking Things Down

We were honored to see JackUltraMotive at our SEMA booth, as he explained the Big Brake Kit we provided him for his Skyline GT-R. This was a 6-piston, 356 mm brake kit in the front and a 4-piston, 345 mm brake kit in the rear. Jack settled on an acid green caliper color, which pops perfectly against the gunmetal paint. Since Jack made the switch to the R1 Concepts Big Brake Kit, he said the car feels “like a feather” when it stops.

All told, the event itself was tremendously exciting. Day one kicked off with HRIA/ARMO vehicle unveilings at their booth that needed to be seen to be believed. Later on, there was also an SBN All-Female Build Reveal, which featured a 2021 Ford Bronco Wildtrak complete with all of the modifications you could ever want, from the suspension to the wheels to the electrical system, exhaust, wrap, and more.

Even the final days were packed with interesting events you wouldn’t want to miss. One of them was the SEMA Battle of the Builders. The top 12 finalists were announced live on stage, with three winners ultimately being selected in each of the four categories. The top four finalists were then announced the next day, one for each category.

The SEMA Launch Pad Top 5 Hot Seat Competition also took place on the central stage, where finalists pitched their ideas for an opportunity to win a prize package valued at an incredible $92,000. Everything was capped off with a wonderful SEMA Industry Awards Banquet on November 3 – the perfect end to an exceptional experience.

At R1 Concepts, we love attending advents like the 2022 SEMA Show because we value every opportunity to share what we’re working on with the world. There are a number of other exciting places we’ll be in 2023 and beyond, so be sure to check back often, so you don’t miss a thing.
