The 2026 show season is officially underway, and the R1 Concepts crew started it in style at CALI CREAMING Los Angeles inside the iconic LA Convention Center. Known as one of the most energetic indoor automotive celebrations in Southern California, the event brought together over 300 show cars and more than 20 vendors, creating a packed venue filled with enthusiasts, families, and the SoCal car community.
From legendary JDM icons to modern performance builds, the show floor delivered an incredible mix of creativity, craftsmanship, and horsepower.
The R1 Concepts Booth Setup
Rex and the R1 Concepts team arrived early to set up and prepare for what would become one of the biggest shows of the year.
Right from the start, it was clear the lineup was going to turn heads. The R1 booth featured several standout builds, including two legendary right hand drive 90s icons:
- Nissan R34 GT-R Skyline
- Toyota Supra
Both vehicles showcased serious performance upgrades and drew crowds throughout the day.
The R34 in particular featured the R1 Concepts Big Brake Kit, delivering both aggressive styling and serious stopping power.
Featured Brake Setup
The Skyline was equipped with:
- 380mm front rotors
- 8 piston front calipers
- 365mm rear rotors
- 6 piston rear calipers
This performance setup dramatically improves braking response compared to stock systems while maintaining the control needed for high performance builds.
For enthusiasts upgrading their braking systems, R1 Concepts also offers performance rotor and pad combinations such as:
- R1 GEO-Carbon Series Drilled and Slotted Brake Rotors
- R1 eLINE Series Drilled and Slotted Brake Rotors
- R1 Ceramic Series Brake Pads
- R1 Performance Sport Series Brake Pads
These combinations provide improved heat dissipation, consistent braking performance, and long term durability for both street and spirited driving.
The Crowd Shows Up
Once the doors opened, the venue filled quickly. Within the first couple hours, the show floor was packed with attendees checking out builds, meeting vendors, and capturing photos of some of the cleanest cars in the scene.
According to Rex from the R1 team, the turnout immediately stood out.
“This is by far one of the bigger shows I’ve been to in a while.”
The energy throughout the convention center reflected what makes Southern California’s car culture so unique. Passion, creativity, and community were everywhere.
Spotlight Build: Nathan Bereki’s R34 GT-R V Spec
One of the highlights of the R1 booth was Nathan Bereki’s R34 GT-R V Spec, a build that perfectly blends iconic styling with modern performance upgrades.
The car features:
- Full Nismo Z-Tune carbon fiber front bumper
- Carbon fiber front fenders
- R1 Concepts Big Brake Kit
Nathan shared how the upgrade transformed the car’s braking performance.
“The stock brakes are Brembos, which are really good, but these bite so well and the car just stops super fast. It’s an amazing kit.”
With 380mm front rotors and 8 piston calipers, the system provides the kind of stopping power needed to match the Skyline’s legendary performance.
More Than Just Cars
Beyond the builds themselves, CALI CREAMING delivered the kind of experience that makes the automotive community special.
The R1 booth saw nonstop traffic from enthusiasts wanting to learn more about brake upgrades, check out the featured builds, and talk shop with the team. Several other vehicles joined the display as well, including:
- Toyota Tacoma
- Subaru WRX
- Additional R1 supported builds
By the end of the day, the crowd energy remained strong as awards were announced and the show wrapped up.
A Strong Start to the Year
As the team packed up, one thing was clear. CALI CREAMING 2026 set the tone for an exciting show season ahead.
Between the massive turnout, the incredible builds, and the enthusiasm from the community, the event proved once again why Southern California continues to be a hub for automotive culture.
For the R1 crew, it was the perfect way to kick off the year.
And if this show is any indication, 2026 is going to be packed with incredible builds, passionate enthusiasts, and plenty of R1 powered stopping power.
