Wekfest Los Angeles 2025 brought the heat. The event was packed with standout builds, passionate car enthusiasts, and top-tier craftsmanship. From rare JDM icons to detailed Euro and domestic customs, Wekfest LA delivered a full showcase of what makes the car community thrive.
One build that grabbed everyone’s attention was Tony McQueen’s 2019 Lexus LC500. With a bold Liberty Walk widebody and a fighter jet-inspired wrap and airbrush combo, this car stood out in a sea of impressive rides. Beneath those aggressive visuals was a performance upgrade that true enthusiasts instantly noticed: a full R1 Concepts Big Brake Kit.
Tony’s LC500 is more than a visual statement. It is a complete build with thoughtful details throughout, including AIMGAIN fenders, a carbon fiber Artisan hood, and a full trunk audio setup. The car is wrapped in matte gray with layered airbrushing to capture a fighter jet aesthetic influenced by Japanese tuning culture.
During the event, Tony highlighted what might be his favorite upgrade: the brakes. His Lexus is equipped with the R1 Concepts Big Brake Kit, featuring a full 8-piston front caliper setup and massive 430mm rotors.
The rotors nearly fill the face of his 21-inch wheels, offering both aggressive styling and real stopping power. For a grand touring coupe that weighs over 4,200 pounds, these brakes make a significant difference in control and safety.
Tony explained it clearly:
“Factory brakes are good, but when you’re driving a heavy car like the LC500, having a setup where you barely tap the pedal and get instant response changes everything. The performance behind the R1 kit is just amazing.”
The brake setup most likely includes:
Brake upgrades are often overlooked, but for serious builds, they are essential. Especially when dealing with increased weight from audio, aero, or widebody kits, upgraded braking systems provide better control and safety.
Key benefits of a performance brake upgrade:
If your build is more than just for show, your braking system needs to match the performance and intent of the rest of your modifications.
Tony brings a thoughtful and detail-driven approach to every build. His focus on both function and form, along with his consistent support for high-quality brands like R1 Concepts, makes him a respected voice in the car community.
He builds cars that do more than look good at shows. They are built to drive, to perform, and to last. We are proud to support Tony and to see our performance braking systems featured on a project with such presence and execution.
