Chris, known on Instagram as @twoillegalwrx, brings personality, passion, and precision to every part of his 2017 Subaru WRX build. Based in Southern California, he keeps things fun in the garage while dialing in a track-ready setup that turns heads at meets and delivers on performance.
When he’s not installing titanium hardware or planning his next wrap, Chris is in the garage with good food, good company, and big plans for his WRX. This build reflects years of thoughtful upgrades and a serious eye for detail.
This latest project marked a refresh of Chris’s existing R1 Concepts Big Brake Kit. After four years and close to 50,000 miles, including around ten track days, he decided it was time for a new colorway. The performance held up impressively over time. Even after all that use, the pads didn’t need replacement thanks to regular maintenance and the durability of R1’s performance components.
In addition to the brake refresh, Chris added a full lineup of titanium accents from Titanium Works, including centric hub rings, lug nuts, valve caps, TPMS hardware, and the latest version of their axle nut. The new turquoise blue calipers tie in perfectly with the updated engine bay, which has been moving from carbon fiber to burnt titanium detailing.
