The goal was to replace the factory setup with a larger R1 Concepts big brake kit that would deliver a stronger presence behind the wheels and braking performance suited to the vehicle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-the-factory-porsche-panamera-brake-setup\">The Factory Porsche Panamera Brake Setup<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Once the wheels were removed, we inspected the Panamera\u2019s original front brake system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The factory setup featured:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Six-piston brake calipers<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>390 mm brake rotors<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>That is a substantial braking system for a performance luxury vehicle. However, the owner wanted an upgrade that would provide even more visual impact and additional braking capability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-upgrading-to-an-r1-concepts-big-brake-kit\">Upgrading to an R1 Concepts Big Brake Kit<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>For this build, the factory brakes were replaced with a larger R1 Concepts setup featuring:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Eight-piston brake calipers<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>405 mm brake rotors<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The increase from six-piston to eight-piston calipers provides a larger and more aggressive brake configuration. The 405 mm rotors also offer additional size and thermal capacity compared with the original 390 mm rotors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Together, the larger calipers and rotors create a brake system designed to complement the Panamera\u2019s size, power, and performance-focused character.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-why-upgrade-to-a-larger-brake-kit\">Why Upgrade to a Larger Brake Kit?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>A big brake kit can offer several advantages for performance vehicles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-increased-heat-capacity\">Increased Heat Capacity<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Larger brake rotors have more surface area and mass to help absorb and manage heat.
