Make sure that you block off the line to help prevent it from leaking out.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Once you loosen the line, have a drip pan at the ready to help make the cleanup process easier.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Next, remove the two caliper bolts that hold the caliper in place.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"has-medium-font-size\">After the two bolts have been removed, you can remove the caliper from the rotor, then the rotor itself.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Now that everything has been removed, you&#8217;ll need to either trim or remove the dust shield (which you need to do will vary depending on your application).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:10px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Now that the standard brakes have been removed from your <span id=\"urn:enhancement-4f35129b-0807-4b6f-ac01-cd3b582a4c12\" class=\"textannotation disambiguated wl-thing\" itemid=\"https:\/\/data.wordlift.io\/wl1503827\/entity\/vehicle\">vehicle<\/span>, you can begin the process of <span id=\"urn:enhancement-2b9d9281-9e34-4c45-bb67-f77fc906668d\" class=\"textannotation disambiguated wl-thing\" itemid=\"https:\/\/data.wordlift.io\/wl1503827\/entity\/installing\">installing<\/span> the Big <span id=\"urn:enhancement-a8c7036c-393f-4ead-a5a7-351614f9038e\" class=\"textannotation disambiguated wl-thing\" itemid=\"https:\/\/data.wordlift.io\/wl1503827\/entity\/braking\">Brake<\/span> <span id=\"urn:enhancement-3d57b477-3bd4-4aad-aa7f-230674cc6245\" class=\"textannotation disambiguated wl-thing\" itemid=\"https:\/\/data.wordlift.io\/wl1503827\/entity\/kit\">Kit<\/span>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:10px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li class=\"has-medium-font-size\">First, install your bracket using the new hardware that has been provided for you. You&#8217;ll also want to make sure that the hardware is the correct size for your steering knuckle. Once the bracket has been secured, you&#8217;ll also want to make sure that it is facing the right away and provides enough clearance for the rotor.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><span id=\"urn:local-annotation-590904\" class=\"textannotation disambiguated\" itemid=\"https:\/\/data.wordlift.io\/wl1503827\/entity\/install-the-rotor\">Install the rotor.<\/span> While doing so, it&#8217;s always a good idea to install a few washers and the factory lug nuts to make sure that the rotor is secured lightly to the hub.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Now you can start placing your<span id=\"urn:local-annotation-92387\" class=\"textannotation disambiguated\" itemid=\"https:\/\/data.wordlift.io\/wl1503827\/entity\/caliper\"> caliper <\/span>onto the caliper mounting bracket using the new hardware that has been provided. Drop one bolt in and get it secure &#8211; make sure it goes in smoothly to prevent cross threading. Then you can secure the other bolt. Make sure the caliper&#8217;s position on the rotor is centered and it has solid pad contact. Shims are provided to either move the caliper left or right as needed.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Once everything is in place, you can remove the hardware and torque everything down to spec. Don\u2019t forget to use the loctite provided.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Then, grab your brake line and the new banjo bolt that has been provided. Put a copper washer on each side of the banjo fitting and secure it to the end of the caliper. Make sure the brake line is tight, but not too tight.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Take care when routing the brake line so that it doesn&#8217;t interfere with either your suspension or your tires.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Once your <span id=\"urn:local-annotation-56970\" class=\"textannotation disambiguated\" itemid=\"https:\/\/data.wordlift.io\/wl1503827\/entity\/brake-line\">brake line<\/span> is mounted the proper way, remove the old factory line.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Once the old line is out, secure the other end of the new line in place.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Using brake cleaner, carefully wipe any areas that brake fluid may have dripped onto.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Remove the washers and lug nuts that you used to secure the rotor.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:10px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">At this point, the process is essentially complete &#8211; you just need to move onto the rear of the Big <span id=\"urn:enhancement-4aa32037-5646-44cc-aaf1-4e9becefe315\" class=\"textannotation disambiguated wl-thing\" itemid=\"https:\/\/data.wordlift.io\/wl1503827\/entity\/braking\">Brake<\/span> <span id=\"urn:enhancement-1b7924fb-8391-4309-bff5-eef11289a558\" class=\"textannotation disambiguated wl-thing\" itemid=\"https:\/\/data.wordlift.io\/wl1503827\/entity\/kit\">Kit<\/span>. It&#8217;s a similar process to the one you just went through above &#8211; remove the bolts, slide the caliper off the <span id=\"urn:enhancement-55424c8e-5c38-4ba0-81b9-c3aa18396097\" class=\"textannotation disambiguated wl-thing\" itemid=\"https:\/\/data.wordlift.io\/wl1503827\/entity\/rotor\">rotor<\/span>, and remove or <span id=\"urn:enhancement-c5b5cb68-e7f3-4359-b900-de1e5a1afd50\" class=\"textannotation disambiguated wl-thing\" itemid=\"https:\/\/data.wordlift.io\/wl1503827\/entity\/trim\">trim<\/span> your dust shield as needed.
