Identifying Tire Wear

Many of us neglect maintenance on our car tires until it’s too late and find ourselves stuck somewhere with a flat tire.  It is recommended to check your tires at least once a month whether it is checking the tire pressure or tire wear.  If you see that your tire is wearing unevenly then it could mean several different things.  If you see that the tread is deeper on the edge of the tires than in the middle of the tires then the tires are over inflated, if the wear is the other way around then they are under inflated.  If there is wear on the inner or outer sides of the tires then you should have your wheels aligned.  If there are bald spots spread out on the tire then that means that you may have worn out shocks.  If only the front tires edges are worn that it could mean that you turn in to corners too fast, slow down a bit and it won’t cause that uneven wear.  Here are some pictures to help identify uneven different kinds tire wear and keep an eye out for your tires, it is always better to be safe than sorry.
