Health: The Heart Rate Formula

Some of you may be exercising to lose weight. Trying to slim that extra fat around your waist. You spend about 20-40 minutes doing cardio 2-5 times a week. After a couple months of exercising and every time you look into the mirror you notice…. nothing, no dramatic change at all.

Obviously you are doing something wrong. One good reason is that your heart rate is not at the pace where your body starts to burn calories and fat. Keep in mind that every bodies heart rate is not the same, just because you burn fat at a certain heart rate does not mean your friend would to. Thanks to Dr. Oz who introduce the heart rate formula to us, we all can benefit from this and learn how to exercise more efficiently.

220  –  (your age)  x  .8O = Ideal heart rate for cardiovascular workouts
