I received this info from TMZ: Los Angeles Fire Department responded to a call at his Los Angeles Home around 12:30 p.m. today (Thursday June 25, 2009).  When Paramedics got there, Michael Jackson wasn’t breathing so they performed CPR.  They never got him to breath again.  He died from cardiac arrest.  He was taken to UCLA Medical Center. More info will come once we find out more.

We just want to send out our prayers to his family and kids.  May he rest in peace.  Michael has been through many ups in the past and many downs in the passed 2 decades.  But we want to remember the impact he brought to the music industry in the 1980’s.  Funny thing, couple of days ago, Long, one of our R1 Sales Rep was watching one of his old video on youtube of Michael doing his moon walk.  We forgot all about the “Moon Walk,” after seeing it we were amazed from his great dance moves. But today we are saden by the news of his death. We didn’t believe it at first till we saw more news that it’s true. Michael was only 50.

I was only a kid in the 80’s but remember him well. Who wouldn’t if you lived in the 80’s, he was the King of Pop. Everyone over the World knew and loved him.  He was planned to do concerts in London and other places of the World, singing and dancing to his classics. That would of been a great come back for him and I know many people from around the World would love to see the old MJ again. When he’s on television, he captured the Worlds attention either it was good or bad. Even his old music videos, people can’t help to watch because he’s just facinating.  I remember 5 years ago, I needed to get something at Fry’s electronics, they were  playing his “Michael Jackson’s Greatest Hits” dvd in the front of the store entrance in their big  home entertainment display.  They had a big screen tv with surround sound.  There was at least 20 people standing there watching it, not for the entertainment products, but for MJ.  His music brought us great joy and till this day, when they play his music, you can’t help but remember the good times you had when you heard that song back in the days.  I still remember when I was in 5th grade, we sang “Heal the World” by MJ at one of our singing assemblies.  He is and always will be a music icon.  As big as Elvis was the King of Rock & Roll, Michael is the King of Pop.  You will be missed and never forgotten.

Finally was able to catch a flick, its been awhile. Been busy but had 3 days off because of Memorial Day. Lot’s of new movies came out; Night at the Museum-Battle of the Smithsonian, Terminator Salvation, and Dance Flick. I’m a huge Terminator fan, mainly Terminator 2: Judgement Day (1991). This new one looks more promising then Terminator 3: Rise of Machines (2003) and I don’t remember much of The Terminator (1984) . Looking at the previews, the graphics looks good and also staring Christian Bale as John Conner. So this movie has to deliver…. right?

The date is 2018, the machines from Skynet has taken over the World. The human race is now small and in hiding like rats. They are out numbered by machines. There is a army called the reistance that is trying to fight Skynet and the man that everyone listens to is John Conner. He is the man who everyone has faith to take out Skynet and lead them. John has a really good understanding of what Skynet is capable of and what lies ahead because of his mom, Sarah Conner. She left him lots of recorded tapes of information given by her before she was killed. When John thought he knew everything that Skynet is capable of, a man name Marcus (Sam Worthington) steps in. He’s mainly a machine but has a human heart. Marcus wanted to help John get into the heart of Skynet. But John never heard of such a machine, did not know Skynet was capable of this type of machine, and was never told anything about it by his mother. John doesn’t know if he should trust this thing that either came from the past to help, or from the future to destory John and the resistance. But I’m already spilling a bit too much so you will have to watch it to find out the whole story. I don’t to spoil it.

Martins Reviews:

So did this movie deliver? I would say yes. So go watch it in theaters because you get the whole effect not just from the computer graphics but from the sound effects. It’s really amazing the sound the machines and termintors makes, feels like you’re there. The story wasn’t bad but I think they are having a difficult time creating a story from the recent Terminators. Action is good, but nothing still compares to the action in Terminator 2. In Terminator 2, it gave you this fear of being chased, Terminator Salvation did the same thing in one of the action scene but just didn’t do as well as the scene in Terminator 2 when John Conner was speeding away in his little motorcycle, trying to get away from the terminator driving a big rig. Christain Bale did a great job playing John Conner, only thing about him is he kind of gives that deep, trying too hard, Batman voice at times. Also Lt. Blair Williams (Korinna Moon Bloodgood) looks gorgious in here, she reminds me of a younger version of Tia Carrere. For the people that did see it, did you see Terry Alan Crews (aka T-Money in Battle Dome, Damon in Friday After Next, think you got the point) in the begining when he was dead from the blast? It look just like him, didn’t even show him when he was alive but showed him when he was dead.

Can you believe this is the 12th movie from the Friday the 13th franchise. I’m a big fan of these classic horror characters. Horror characters like Freddy krueger, Michael Myers, Leatherface, and of course Jason Voorhees. Out of all of these guys, my favorite is Jason. For some reason when I have nightmares till this day…. most of them have Jason in it trying to kill me. I’ve seen all of the 12 Friday the 13th movies. The more recent ones didnt really live up to his name. Jason X was just terrifying in a bad way. Freddy vs. Jason wasn’t a bad concept, and I’m glad Jason kicked Freddy’s behind.

So the new movie from Michael Bay and Marcus Nispel (Texas Chainsaw Massacre) is like a remake of the Friday the 13th 3-4 film of the series. The story continued from the first 2 films of the series but this one takes place in modern time.  So you will see little rich kids with Cadillac Escalades, cell phones, and GPS systems. Jason looked better then ever, played by Derek Mears. Story takes place at the all so scary Camp Crystal Lake. A group of teenagers go out to find their secret pot growing field. They enter the forest and right into Crystal Lake, there they get killed but one girl name Whitney Miller (Amanda Righetti). Weeks later her brother, Clay Miller (Jared Padalecki)  is determined to find her. He runs into another group of teenagers that was also headed to Crystal Lake. From that group a girl name Jenna (Danille Panabaker) who felt sorry for him and wanted to help. So they search through Crystal lake, they go through old cabins and they get to Jason’s own house. Now they must do what it takes to get out of Crystal Lake alive…. if they are lucky!

Martin’s Review

This movie has what it takes to be called Friday the 13th. It had suspense, blood, naked girls, and sex scene (or should I say scenes). Actually this version had a lot of nudity (not complaining). It had some of the scary music but not as much as the old versions. The music is actually what makes it even more scarier when Jason is comming after you with his machete. Some of the killings happened way too quickly, some you don’t get to see how they die (No I’m not sick in the head). But if you count all of the killings there was like 13 victims (If I didn’t mistaken). I was happy that the story stayed true to its roots, killings, and Jason himself. It showed his house, bits of his child hood, and how the whole hockey mask became his new face.

Should you watch this at the theatre? YES

If you own a Chrysler 300c (or other V8 non-SRT8 models) and experiencing vibration when driving at high speeds or under braking, most likely it’s your front end steering components.  Before you think the brakes are out read this blog.  The Chrysler also known as LX models are in the same family as Dodge Magnum and Chargers.  So if you own one of those as well, these problems might be coming your way if you haven’t already expected it.

My warranty expired and it’s hard to find trust worthy technicians, so I’ve been doing research on the web to find out the buzz on our LX rides.   I just like to know what I’m expecting before taking it to the dealer, because I don’t want to come out with a  fat large bill and not expecting one.  There are two great forums I search on and they:  www.lxforums.com; and www.300cforums.

First off, I took my car to get it aligned, because it’s been been pulling to the right again.  (Another common issue.)  So I went to my local shop, because they are able to balance my 300c with 22’s and lowered suspension.  The mechanic started to diagnose my ride and notice my that wheels are wobbling a little bit from 9 o’clock and 3 o’clock hand position.  He told me that my inner tie rod is bad, because it had play.  After he told me that, I realized that this was one of the causes for my right front tire to wear out faster then my left.  Plus the left front tire also had a bubble, which I had to recently change.  Yea, I know sad.  I thought it was my bad alignment that cause my tire wear and bubble, but it was also the bad tie rods.

Before we go any further, lets take a look at the video to see what wobble I’m getting:

Special Thanks to whoever recorded the video!  Big help!

Sample of Outter Tie Rod

Sample of Outter Tie Rod (Image #1)

In  the second video you can see the outer tie rod (sample of out tie rod image #1 above) and when the gentleman shakes the wheels its likely the inner part that has play.  When it has play its cause the front wheels to wobble.  My left and right wheels wobbles like the video, right wheel more the the left wheel.  It’s scary driving under these conditions because you get a lot of vibration from the steering wheel.  If the wobbling goes really bad you can start loosing steering control.

After reading many LX forums, I see fellow LX riders have other problematic issues.  From what I read, other common issue is the outer tie rod going bad as well the inner tie rod.  As side from that, the rack & pinion goes out as well.  Many of LX owners had these problems at 6k, 12k, 20k and mine was 50k miles.  This is my big disappointment for Chrysler and Dodge.

My local shop told me it was the inner tie.  So I went to Napa and picked up a pair of inner tie rod which came out to around $80.00.  The local shop was going to do the install and alignment for $220.00.  After they installed the inner tie rods they we tired to do the alignment.  Guess what, they couldn’t align the car.  They told me that the chamber kit wasn’t centered and they couldn’t align it.  I only end up paying for the tie rod install which was $120.00.

After that, I drove the car for a month, but I don’t drive that much because we carpool here at work.  (R1 going GREEN!)  The front end wasn’t shaky that much, but it was really was really pulling to the right still.  After that month, it was over and all went bad again.  I now had lots of play on the front wheels, and was worse than before.

I finally got the time to drop off the dealer.  Just a heads up, for them to even check on your car, it runs around $100.00.  If you decided to fix it with them then they won’t charge it.  After they checked it, they told me the rack & pinion was bad.  The Tech took me over to my car as it was lifted and showed me the play it had on the rack and pinion.  The right side was very bad compared to the left side.  Now to the part where I empty out my wallet.  The rack and pinion cost everything and 2 hours of labor cost a little over $800.00, plus I had to get it aligned after for another $100.  They hook me up on the hours because the lady from the service desk  said its usually around 4.5 hours of labor.  I was happy that it cost me under $1000.  The parts are backed ordered as I guess many of these parts has been going bad for many.  I will do a follow up as they get the parts in and when is done.  Hopefully no more problems.  I really wished I had gotten the extended warranty.  I really thought since we’re in the new millennium that these kinda of problem wouldn’t occur will the the new age technology, but it hasn’t.

So for those who can still get extended warranty on your car,  I so recommended it.  It usually around $2000 and less for an additional of 2 to 3 years or whatevers miles on top of factory 3 year/36k miles.  You can make it in monthly payments on the extended warranty.  If there’s any problems you have the freedom of mind that you can just take direct to the dealer for them to fix.

On January 31, 2009, Kobe Bryant was driving to the basket for a shot, came down falling back onto Andrew Bynum’s knee, injuring Lakers starting center. As a result,  Bynum was diagnosed with a torn medial collateral ligament and will miss 8-12 weeks.

Andrew Bynum was averaging 14pts, 8.2 rebounds, 1.9 blocks  a game for the 2009 season, coming back from a prior injury last year in mid-January where he dislocated his left kneecap and didn’t come back for the rest of the season.  The following year he began off slow, but soon started to come back to his All-Star caliper status before he got badly injured again for the second time in the last 2 years. In the last 5 games before he got injured, he was averaging 26.2 pts, 13.8 rebounds, 3.2 blocks, 65.3% shooting a game.

Kobe, the Laker team, and the Laker fans was devastated. Now the question was could the Los Angeles Lakers win a championship title without Andrew Bynum? He brought more depth in the inside post game and rebounds. His defense in the middle created blocks, or just his presences made driving, penetrating players have to adjust their shot.  Some may have said that if LA had Andrew Bynum in the NBA Finals against the Boston Celtics, Lakers would have won a NBA championship ring. To have Kobe Bryant, Andrew Bynum, Pau Gasol, and a good supporting cast, the Los Angeles Lakers looks to have a good chance at the championship.

Andrew Bynum

Andrew Bynum

One of their best is injured and now the whole team has to adjust offensively and defensively. It looks to be harder to win the title without Bynum. It just means Lakers would have to work harder. Lakers know they didn’t win the title last year because of their lack of defense against the Boston Celtics. This year Lakers have shown they can play defense, but are inconsistent.  The US coaching staff chose Kobe to be on the Olympic Team for defensive reasons, and it has shown this year holding back Lebron James, Paul Pierce, and others from scoring easily.  If this can spread to the whole team, Lakers can have hope to win the championship.

On Feb. 05, 2009, the Los Lakers played against the team who beat them in the Finals last year for the championship, the Boston Celtics at the TD Banknorth Garden arena. It was a close game that went into overtime. The Lakers came together and won the match up against the Boston Celtics.

The day before the Lakers-Celtics game, the Lakers came back from a match up against Toronto, flew all the way to Boston, had energy to play against the Celtics and win a close thrilling game. It shows determination on the Los Angeles Lakers to do what it takes to win, and show that playing back to back games will not slow them down.  In my opinion, Lakers have a good chance towards a championship title, but we shall see…..
