Stoptech and Brembo Big Brake Kits

The braking system is in no way a simple mechanism. In fact, it is one of the most elaborate mechanisms of your car. Accelerating a car that weighs in the range of hundreds of kilograms and making it run at high speeds, is in itself a daunting task. Stopping this heavy car working against its momentum is an even more difficult task. Braking systems in cars convert the kinetic energy into heat energy by putting brake rotors and brake pads together and generating friction between the surfaces. However, the amount of heat produced in the brake assembly area often becomes a problem.

Previously, when braking technology was not so developed these brake rotors and brake pads used to go through regular wear and tear and had to be checked every now and them. There would also be gases formed between the surfaces that had to be channeled out. Now, however, there are better materials available for making these parts, which are more resilient and can withstand more heat. In fact, there are also the big brake kits that feature better efficiency for performance and racing cars. These big brake kits have been designed for track use as well as everyday use. They lessen the effort for braking and provide more receptive late braking. Companies like Brembo big brake kits, Stoptech, Statis, Rotora, and AP Racing design these braking kits in a way to reduce the time between the brakes are applied and when the car comes to a stop. They typically have brake discs, brake calipers, and piston bores that are bigger than the normal ones.

The standard brake systems cannot be used for extreme situations like race tracks; they are perfect for everyday driving and stopping cars that are running at no more than 60 to 80 miles per hour. Because of increased surface area in big brake kits they have increased tolerance for heat produced in the system. This, of course, means that these systems also offer better resistance to brake fade and caliper distortion. These big brake kits are a good choice for every car, because they are designed for better control and modulation.

The great part about these brake kits is that they come in complete packages and can be installed almost instantaneously with very little effort. Typically, they come with a two-to-twelve piston brake calipers that balances the vehicle and maintains ABS compatibility. Plus there are two-piece brake rotors, performance brake pads, anti-rattle hardware, caliper mounting brackets, and brake linings made of stainless steel. Two-piece brake rotors are precision CNC machined to be drill, slot, or both drill and slot to provide increased performance and reliability. Brembo brake kits are traditionally drilled. Stoptech brake kits are traditionally slotted. There may be different design options offered upon request. These kits are designed to work in perfect harmony with the ABS and traction control system and they come with elaborate manuals, that also have detailed instructions about modifications should the user want to make any.

The installations are actually very simple and anybody with some experience of working with mechanical tools can do it comfortably. Most of fittings are straight forward bolt-ons. If you face an issue while trying to install big brake kits, you can call up the customer service centers and they are usually happy to answer your questions about installation. Once you have finished installation you are good to go for that drive around the neighborhood, but make sure you have double-checked everything carefully before doing that. Brakes are something you wouldn’t want to take chances with.
